About GNHRE

A Network for the Creation of Change

Environmental challenges and human rights concerns are deeply interconnected. Addressing them requires collaboration across disciplines, sectors, and borders.

GNHRE brings together experts and practitioners from around the world to generate knowledge, share experiences, influence policy, and support transformative action on issues including climate change, biodiversity protection, environmental governance, Indigenous rights, environmental defenders, sustainable development, and the right to a healthy environment.

Our network serves as a platform for meaningful dialogue, innovative research, and collective action that bridges academia, policy, and community practice.

Research & Knowledge Exchange

We support interdisciplinary research, scholarly collaboration, and knowledge-sharing on emerging environmental and human rights challenges. Through publications, working groups, and collaborative projects, our members contribute to global conversations and solutions.

Policy & Advocacy

GNHRE members contribute to national, regional, and international policy processes, including submissions to United Nations mechanisms and consultations on environmental and human rights issues.


Capacity Building & Education

Through summer schools, workshops, seminars, conferences, and training initiatives, we create opportunities for learning, mentorship, and professional development.


Community & Collaboration
